Missing Persons Board

Someone wrote me and said www.nowpublic.com has set up a missing persons board. You can post the picture of someone you know who has gone missing in the storm there. 

1/20/06 Update: I got the email about the missing persons board early in the day after Katrina made landfall. We had  heard that Katrina went east of New Orleans instead of making the dreaded direct hit. My husband was full of "I told you so" because I had awakened him the night before freaking out about the potential devastation to New Orleans. He was a little ticked off that I had jarred him out of a sound sleep. He definitely thought I was overreacting. There was a mood of relief that our beloved city of New Orleans had been spared. I almost wrote the emailer back saying "thank you very much, but we aren't going to have a need for a missing persons board. New Orleans was spared and everything seems to be going well". Truly, having weathered several really tough storms - Camille, and Andrew just to name a few - I'd never experienced people in mass going missing in a storm. We had the occasional freak accidental deaths - like during Hurricane Hilda my schoolmate's dad went out to help someone and a tree hit his car and killed him.  The utility companies usually had a casualty or two when a repairman hit a live wire while trying to fix the power lines. But nothing like what was to come once the levees broke in New Orleans. Later on when the comments started pouring in from people whose loved ones had gone missing, I was really glad I refrained from sending that email. Ah, the innocence we had back then. Forever, we will think of New Orleans - well actually the whole state of Louisiana -as either before or after Katrina - well really hurricane season 2005 - much like I think of Mississippi as being before or after Camille...
