Through a process of interviews with hotel owners, executives, and front-line employees, the Hotel Association of Quintana Roo State, in coordination with the Cancun Convention and Visitors Bureau, has the following information to report as of November 2, 2005:

Ø As for beaches conditions, a detailed inventory is being prepared. At present, the area between the Riu Cancun toward the downtown/mainland (facing the Bahía de Mujeres) has actually had its beaches expanded (Presidente Inter-Continental, Oasis Viva, Ambiance Villas, Villas Tacul, Barcelo las Perlas, Blue Bay, Riu Caribe, etc)
Ø The Cancun International Airport initiated normal operations November 1, including nighttime operations. Both charter and scheduled carriers have resumed service.
Ø The Cancun Center convention facility will resume normal operations by November 8, 2005.

Ø As of today, some 40 tourist-quality restaurants are open and many others will open within the next week.
Ø All of the region’s archaeological sites will be open to visitors as of November 7.
Local travel agencies and DMC’s (destination management companies) are open for business.
Ø The majority of Cancun’s discos and nightclubs will be operating as of November 4.
Ø All of Cancun’s wedding organizers are operating normally, in conjunction with hotel re-opening schedules (see above details).
